Sail Date: Dec 2014

This was our second cruise after a trip to New Zealand on the Dawn Princess. After wondering if we would go on another cruise, the decision was easy as the value offered to returning customers was so good. We booked through Flight Centre which included flights and transfers, and all went very efficiently.

We had an Oceanview Stateroom which was clean and very adequate. As the Sea Princess is the sister ship of the Dawn Princess they are identical except for the cosmetic changes to décor etc. There has been some criticism about this ship being a bit tired and in need of a refit which to some extent is true, but this was in no way an effect on the cruise experience. I believe there is a refit scheduled later in 2015.

We did have to wait for our second case to arrive at the stateroom and it was some hours later that we found a note asking us to go down to the entry point and open our case. It turned out that our travel iron is not allowed on board which we were not aware of and was not an issue before. Lots of other passengers were there having their irons, kettles and juicers removed, so be warned. A receipt was issued and we collected the iron on disembarkation.
