Although we enjoyed this cruise it did have some negatives which I intend to focus on unfortunately. While the masses of workers on this ship go out of there way to wait and accommodate your needs, the management side of this ship seems to be coming up short in my judgement. Upon arrival to the port at 1:30 pm (check in from 1:00 to 3:00) we noticed the line wrapping around the building with a very large line. The end result was late departure, no big deal huh? This was the start of many late arrivals and late departures. I believe since Carnival operates on "ship time" instead of actual time this creates confusion as I am sure nobody can program their atomic watches and cell phones to "ship time". The results for our stops in the central time zones in Belize, the last tender was suppose to reach the ship at 4:15 however it occurred at dark at 6:00 pm, but since my excursion was 1 1/2 hours late that day due to late arrival I should not have been surprised by our late departure from Belize. Honduras? Departure scheduled at 3:00 and at 3:45 people were still casually walking up the pier unaware of "ship time". Now, whats up with the tee shirts, shorts and flip flops in the main dining room? While I understand Carnival does not want to risk the almighty dollar, there should be enforced dress code. There also seems to be some restriction on fun also as there was no music playing at the aft pool most days. Don't even try to figure out the omelet line at the buffet, instead you can just get aggravated by watching people take cuts in front of you. Come on Carnival, these our simple changes that would make life on-board your ships more pleasant. We plan on seeking a better managed ship for our next cruise and I know this is a comparative market and I'm sure I can find more satisfaction for my MONEY with one of the other cruise lines!
