Took the Royal Princess from Fort Lauderdale over Christmas 2014. This was our second cruise on Princess this year. We sailed on the Emerald Princess in March. We loved the Emerald Princess and looked forward to another great trip on a newer, bigger ship. The Royal Princess is just bigger but not better. The elevator space seems limited for the number of passengers. The entertainment spaces are quite limited. The theatre is large and comfortable. The Vista Lounge is adequate. The entertainment in the bars is cramped. The Wheelhouse Bar on the Royal is 1/2 the size of the Wheelhouse Bar on the Emerald. There is no Starlight lounge on the upper deck like other ships we have been on. Most of the band's performed in the atrium which had numerous lounges on three decks that overlooked the dance floor. Overall additional space went to cabins and not dance floor. The entertainment was adequate but was scheduled in 45 minute blocks. I would have preferred more dance space, longer sessions and more variety in entertainment.
