This is my 5th cruise (2nd with Holland America), and I have to say that I was underwhelmed by this cruise. It is evident that Holland America is cutting down on food costs. It seemed like there were less high-end food items to choose from and portions were smaller than usual. There were a few times that we were hungry but the lido buffet was closed. On past cruises, there has been food available late into the evening, but on this cruise the food availability was limited. In addition to the limited menu, the wait for food was incredibly long throughout the entire cruise. Twice we wanted to order room service and it took 30+ minutes for someone to even answer the phone to take our order. Even ordering a burger on the pool deck took 30-40 minutes. There was always a wait in the dining room as well, but that we expected. The entertainment throughout the cruise was just so-so. The absolute best entertainment was the B.B. King Band. They were a lot of fun and sounded great. The wait for a drink in any of the bars was long.

Interior Stateroom

Our room was clean and the steward did a good job. I also have to admit that the bed was more comfortable than I expected. The room did lack power outlets, and I was surprised that there weren't any outlets in the bathroom.
