We live in California, and preferred the embarkation of LA and a 7 day cruise to Mexico. All went well on this cruise. I would conclude it was very enjoyable but not the best cruise we have done. For one, before departure, we read about this ship having a outbreak of the norovirus affecting over ~300 passengers. During the cruise the captain informed us there were about 37 cases of such, and all the precautions taken by his crew. I guess this bit of information is worrisome, and we were lucky not to have been infected.

The dining experience every night was the best. The waiters who waited on us, were superb. The ship offered other food options (other than one's assigned dining time and place), but those options were not very good--the Horizon Court buffet was so-so, hamburgers, hot dogs--skip it; and the for-fee-extra restaurants were not worth the extra money I heard. The dining staff from the head waiter to the chef each evening gave us a full meal to our hearts content--dessert every night--we ordered nearly every selection to sample.

The entertainment was dated, nothing more recent or top 40 hits nor close to any Vegas-style shows really. The sports activities on Deck 19 were attracting many kids and teenagers, but Deck 19 is so small. For teenagers, I would conclude that this trip is not catering to their interests at all.

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Mini suite was good for my three daughters. I think it can accommodate 4, but I think it is too small for 4 teenagers or young adults.
