Before the Cruise: We flew into MIA the day before and stayed at The Intercontinental Miami. It is a beautiful hotel very close to the port. We had a room on the 26th floor with a bay view. I highly recommend this hotel before a cruise, although they do not provide a shuttle to the port. We had to get a taxi, but it was only a five minute ride to the port.

Embarkation: The fastest embarkation I have ever experienced! We arrived at the port at 12:30 and there was hardly anyone there. We were on the ship in 15 minutes!

The Ship: The ship is typical Carnival. Bright colors and fabrics that remind one of the Vegas strip. All of the venues were clean and well-maintained (if a little outdated). I will have to say that I think they had way too much chlorine in one of the hot tubs. It bleached my brand new blue swimsuit. It is ruined. I wore my other swimsuits in other hot tubs and pools with no issue, so I think this was an isolated incident.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8D

We had a balcony cabin on the Lido deck. I was a little worried that it would be noisy. I was surprised at how quiet it was. You could not hear any noise from the pool and it was convenient to everything. I will definitely be booking Lido cabins in the future! As far as the room goes, it looked like a typical Carnival cabin. A little outdated, but sufficient. A couple of complaints about the cabin. There is no fridge, no ice bucket, and the normally overflowing amenities basket in the bathroom stayed empty. Also, the room had an old-fashioned TV with a horrible picture, but who cruise to sit in the cabin and watch TV?
