Wife and I sailed along with two teenagers (connecting staterooms) on the Brilliance of the Seas the 20th through 24th. Living in NE Florida made Tampa a viable choice for a Western Caribbean cruise. This is only our third cruise, and second on Royal Caribbean.

We have previously sailed on the Carnival Sensation and Enchantment of the Seas out of Port Canaveral. I was looking forward to sailing on a Radiance Class Ship, and was not disappointed. The Brilliance was nicely decorated for the holidays. The Radiance Class ships may not have all the 'bells and whistles,' of the Freedom or Oasis Class RCI Ships to entertain those that require constant entertainment. But, we do not fall into that category. We did not catch the show the first night, but did catch the comedy show the second night, the third nights show featuring the Spectrum and the fourth nights show featuring the Brilliance of the Seas dancers, musicians and vocalists. All were very nice.

Can not tell you about the Disco, etc. Not my cup of tea, but we did enjoy the 70's show (3rd night) located in the Centrum. Good time had by all.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E2

I was a little bit concerned regarding the proximity of 7042 & 7044 to the forward stairs/elevators (noise). Turns out it was no problem at all. There are barrier doors, that were never closed, and I never heard any noise to speak of. If you like a little extra balcony space, these are great rooms! Deck 7 rooms adjacent to the forward stairs/elevator and moving forward have extra space on their balconies. I do wish they would have put a lounge chair out there!! I have seen a few reviews talking about noise coming from the Pacifica Theatre into these staterooms. I never heard it!
