All in all we were very disappointed in Royal Caribbean and the Quantum of the Seas. My family spent a lot of money on our 'Holiday Cruise' (we had one Junior Suite and 3 staterooms) and felt afterwards the trip was a money grab. From the get-go the reservation system didn't work and this only showed more on board where schedules didn't match, dinner reservations were missing, and excursions were longer than originally stated online (messing up the dinner reservations even more). Although the food was excellent, all restaurants were clearly understaffed, so badly that on Christmas Eve we spent 3 1/2 hours at Chops Grille (RC actually refunded us for that dinner).

Everywhere you went you had to stand in long lines. My son and I spent 2 hours waiting for a balloon artist. During de-embarkation in Nassau we stood in line on the stairs for over an hour and one couldn't help but wonder how RC would handle crowds during an emergency. On Christmas Day we had to wait in line for over an hour for my son's RC Christmas gift. The ship was absolutely beautiful, but if you advertise this as a Holiday cruise one would expect decorations, carolers, and specific holiday entertainment. Except for one large Christmas tree on the Royal Esplanade, waiting in line for Santa for over an hour and carolers on Christmas eve which my wife missed because of the Chops Grille dinner debacle, there was absolutely nothing to remind you that this was a Holiday Cruise. Our stateroom attendant was fantastic, however it is now RC's policy that they do not provide you with new shampoo, conditioner etc. unless you ask your stateroom attendant! Really Royal Caribbean? How cheap can you get!

The on-board staff was a bit of a mixed bag...some were very friendly and really tried their best, while others clearly couldn't care less about the guests. Many of our fellow passengers complained about RC's lack of service as well and you know that when a priest on Christmas Eve makes not one but two comments about how we have 'to be gentle in our comments and not only see the negative', RC is fully aware that people were not happy.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite with Balcony

Cabin JS

Beautiful Cabin with great balcony, however, there was a very nasty creak in the wall behind our bed. Nothing that could be done about that, however one can see how light sleepers would not be able to sleep when the ship moves (which is pretty much all the time)
