Let me began by stating we are veteran cruisers and have cruised on Carnival, Princess, Celebrity, and Royal. We continue to prefer Royal because the crew is happy and there is a mix of age groups aboard the ships.

Our last trip was out of Galveston in December. We arrived late, around 2:00, and the lines to get aboard were long. It just reconfirmed my goal of arriving at 11:00. Still, the staff did their best and from the bus to the ship only took about 30 minutes.

Once onboard we went to the restaurant and reconfirmed our My Time Dining Reservation. We also greeted the maitre dei and told him we were happy to be aboard the Navigator. He remembered us each night and made sure we had a good waitor each night.

Compact but large enough not to feel claustrophobic. We always have the beds separated to have space to get into bed.
