We sailed on the Breakaway on 10/12/14 to Florida & The Bahamas. We booked a balcony room in July for this trip, we then upgraded to a mini-suite a few weeks later & then were offered a huge cheap upgrade to a 2 bedroom/2 bath villa in The Haven 3 days before the sailing & we took it. I will break down the cruise:

Embarkation: We showed later than usual for this cruise as we missed our Metro-North train & had to wait an hour, so we arrived at the Manhattan terminal around 2PM for a 3PM sailing. It was packed & there were hundreds of people lined up on the sidewalk outside the terminal. We checked our bags curbside & when we entered the terminal, we were given priority treatment due to being in The Haven suite. We were whisked away to a separate waiting/check in area after we went through security & we skipped hundreds of people. There were only about 20 people in The Haven waiting area & we boarded after setting up on onboard payment account, etc. probably around 2:30PM. We went straight to our room which was hard to find at first, but we found the concierge area in The Haven & then met our butler, Jonathan & room steward, Richard as well as The Haven concierge, Anoop Bhanu. They were all really amazing. All of the staff in The Haven area were exceptionally nice. I guess it is part of the perks of being in the VIP section of the ship. Finding The Haven was very difficult in the beginning as when we showed up late, we were on our own getting on board, but when we found the concierge area we were then briefed on how they would take care of us for the week.

Stateroom: We were in room 15104 on deck 15 in The Haven which is a 2 bedroom/2 bath garden villa. It was very spacious & clean. My wife was so pleasantly impressed with the size as she thought it would be smaller, but it was great! She was also greeted to the room being decorated for our wedding anniversary (15 years). We had a decent balcony, spacious enough for 2 chairs & a small table, perfect for snapping pictures & having coffee/tea in the morning. The stateroom had 3 tv’s (one in the living area, one in each bedroom). The kids bedroom had its own normal size bathroom (same size as a oceanview stateroom bathroom) & a couch bed & a pull down bunk bed (which Richard turned down with Spongebob blanket & night light I surprised my daughter with. The master bedroom & bathroom were both enormous as the bath had two huge sinks, a bathtub & huge separate shower (equipped with jets, etc.) & a separate toilet with door & the bedroom had a king size bed, huge vanity area for the misses & tons of shelving, drawers & storage. The living area was huge as well with a table, couch & chairs, coffee maker, fridge which Jonathan kept us stocked with coffee/tea & half & half all week. Richard cleaned the room nearly 3 times a day (after we left for breakfast, after lunchtime & again in the evening). He was amazing. We spent a more time in the room than usual since it was so nice.
