Well this would be my second cruise with Carnival and I found something missing....PERSONALITY. At the beginning of the cruise, we were called late for the "safety" drill so as the ship was leaving port, we were stuck standing by the lifeboats instead of enjoying our departure. Our cabin seemed that is was more a junior suite rather than an ocean suite but I am assuming this is due to ship design. Our cabin steward was there when needed but there wasn't anything special about what he did. The dining room staff basically served the food but in too much of a hurry. "Get in in and get you out" seemed to be the theme at dinner time. My only comparison is from my previous cruise so maybe it is that some are better at their job or it was close to rotation time for the crew. "Guys" Burgers wasn't that great. I mean the food was good but I could get a good burger at Fuddruckers. They have a burger bar too. John Heald mentioned in one of his Facebook postings about Guys. He mentioned that where can you get a good burger like Guys and then walk away without paying. I wrote back that we did pay. It was part of our cruise fare.

As to ports of call. We stopped in Cozumel and took a Carnival "all-inclusive" beach excursion. I guess they do not know what all-inclusive means. You still need to pay for snorkel gear and other items on the beach. Then of course the tipping gets out of hand. Tip the kitchen, tip your waiter, tip your tour guide, tip the boat crew. This is one excursion, there should be one tip taking care of everyone. Belize was our next port of call. Waste of time unless you have an excursion booked that is unless you want to explore the poverty beyond the port walls. Our next port of call was Roatan. I was a little apprehensive on this port as the port area was build by Carnival and they only let Carnival partnered tour operators into the area to pick you up. I booked my own tour with Victor Bodden Tours and I have to say I had the best time of my life. Not only did I get to see the entire island, we had our own private driver who took us anywhere we wanted to go which included snorkeling, beach, restaurant, etc. Of course these extras cost a little more but I would have paid 4 times as much if I went through Carnival and the excursions would not have been customized to what I wanted to see. Victor Bodden Tours. Look him up here or even Google him. Our last port was Grand Cayman. Been there, done that. I stayed on board the ship.

Cabin Review

Ocean Suite

Cabin OS

Smaller that the OS I had one Carnival Destiny (Sunshine) but I guess that is due to ship design. Nothing special about the suite. Just a little more rocking with the ship due to it being Forward.
