My wife and I planned this cruise almost a year ago. We wanted to be on the Carnival Freedom when it was decorated for Christmas. This was our fourth cruise with Carnival and our second time on the Freedom.

We drove down from North Carolina and chose to once again stay at the Rodeway Inn & Suites in Fort Lauderdale because we had such a good experience with them on our first stay there two years ago. Once again we were not disappointed. Check in and out was easy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good restaurant on site. Free parking right are the motel. Our motel room was very clean. Got up Saturday morning and had nice free breakfast. At 10:30 a.m. we boarded our free shuttle over to the port. Completed our check in around 11:00 a.m. Everything went very smoothly. Had a wait of about an hour before boarding the Freedom but were sitting on the Lido eating a taco and burrito by noon. Got in our room on the Lido deck around 1:15 p.m.

We unpacked and began a quick tour of the Freedom since it had been upgraded since our last cruise. Must way I was very impressed. Loved the 2.0 upgrades. Which included the taco and burrito bars. The Red Frog Bar, Red Frog Pub, The Blue iguana bar, Guy's hamburgers, new EA sports bar, to name a few. Our sail away party was right on time at 4:00 p.m. to begin our cruise. We had two days at Sea to relax in the sun and enjoy the Freedom before arriving at St. Maarten on Tuesday.

Enjoyed this room so much we booked the same cabin both times we cruised on the Freedom. Quiet, near the stairs and elevators and close to the pools and bars on the Lido deck. Would definitely recommend this room to anyone.
