As generally experienced and tolerant cruisers, we question whether Royal Caribbean International are concerned about its "Worldwide 40 year Reputation." If our recent first Cruise with RCI is any indication of their supposed "World-Class Service",we will most certainly return to OTHER "real" Experienced Reputable Customer Oriented Companies, and tell others about our RCI experience!!

We choose our Voyager adventure because this ship was big, newly revitalised and because there was an Ice-skating rink on-board.Yes, there also were many other features available on-board,but similar to many other ships .Other reasons for our decision included the fact that Voyager was to be repositioned from Singapore to Sydney with its many "Sea days", and of-cause RCI's 4 star Royal Advantage Reputation. Other Voyager passengers on this cruise have already voiced their opinion and you only need to read the recent cruise-critic members reviews to understand the dismay and disappointment they also experienced..

Our summary followes: The Voyager of the Seas is a beautiful big ship, with many spacious public area's and lots of features.Due to the calm seas we only noticed very minor ship movement throughout the Cruise. Our embarkation took at least 3 1/2 hours, lucky we waited in an airconditioned hall. The self-service windjammer cafe was generally warm/hot and crowded during breakfasts and lunch. Service in the main dining room was extremely slow (up to 55 min. for starters and to 2 1/2 hrs total for our table of 6) Some orders were delivered incorrectly, some menu items not available, some food half-cooked or cold/luke-warm etc..Generally the dining room service did start to improve from day 6, as did the available food -- after quite some discussions with the matre-d and other staff..(They were aware, but too short-staffed and unprofessional.) As stated, we tried to compromise, after-all, our other choice was the overcrowded windjammer cafe or..... $$ hamburgers with dancing/singing crew ..At least we did not starve unlike some "guests" who continually asked for unavailable banana's or "poached eggs".. We were continually told by various officers/crew "this a repositioning cruise" or " this ship has just been refitted" as a valid reason or excuse to cover shortages or maintenance problems and issues/concerns. .IT was really fascinating to hear the Captain tell about 1200 guests the revitalization project was 99% successful, with only some minor issues outstanding..... Our main complaint with the guest service department ( read- long line of unhappy/complaining guests) was the fact we choose this Cruise for the Ice-skating- but as the ice-rink only opened from day 7 with 30 min" half day' sessions also available to guests on day 8 and not 9-[cancelled}, with remainder days reserved for Ice-Shows, it meant we actually were on the ice for 60 minutes maximum, not a lot compared say to Gym users, were the exercise equipment was available everyday.. Yes, the guest services officer seemed to understand, BUT the revitalization etc etc etc maybe when in SIDENEY you can go .... and ice-skate???

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Nice quiet roomy balcony cabin, level 8 midships, king size bed, 4 fresh pillows, we slept great each night.Fair size bathroom, 2 pieces soap, one liquid soap/spoo dispencer in shower. excellent total shower enclosure, good shower rose, excellent water pressure, we did notice, there is no "cold" water available, so the "cold' in sink and shower is allways warm/very warm. if you need cold water, ask for ice bucket..the flat screen tv is ok, but terrible reception-if any.. i outside table, 2 chairs, ask loan of free robes. the small unit holding bottles is called a refrigerator, it does not make bottles cold..to australian standards .good storage, good lights good aircon control good phone but '0' mostly buzy....
