It has been a week since we got off the Sensation, and I wanted to take some time to process the whole experience. This was a very last minute cruise, as in booked 2 weeks prior to sailing date. I knew the ship was not as big or as fancy as the other ships I have been on (Fantasy, Liberty, and Legend). My SO had gone on this same exact cruise last year and he didn’t have that great of a time. I wanted to give this a shot since I’m not at all picky. I believe you make your own fun and you create your own memories, therefore, I was able to convince my SO to give it another try.

I’ll start off with the good. Embarkation and Debarkation was a breeze. The ship does not seem run down at all, regardless of the other reviews. I thought it was well maintained and I did not come across anything that needed work done. I also loved the fact that they put up holiday decorations. It definitely help set the mood of the holiday season. The room was spacious enough for the two of us. We received an ocean view room on the empress deck. It was a short cruise so we weren’t very picky with where we were staying. We had brought our own toiletries so we didn’t have any issues with that. The ports were nice (Freeport and Nassau). We had decided to book our own excursions with the help of the tripadvisor and it was an amazing time. The food on the lido deck was pretty decent, not much option but I already knew what to expect. Although the ship was pretty small, it never seemed crowded. The waters were pretty calm as far as I know. I usually don’t feel the swaying of the boat but my SO does and he said he didn’t feel it much this time. The entertainment was pleasant. We didn't see any shows, but we attended the trivias, karaokes, and magic show. Those had us laughing till our bellys were hurting.

One of the reasons why I keep returning to Carnival is because the customer service was impeccable. The ships may not be as extravagant as other cruise lines, but I haven’t had a bad experience while cruising a Carnival ship. This time however, sad to say but I was turned off a few times.
