A little more than a year after out first time on the Carnival Victory we boarded her again on a pre-Christmas cruise to Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. Our reservation was for a suite on the 7th deck of the Victory. That coupled with Cathy’s status in Carnival’s frequent cruiser program afforded us several priorities that we had not enjoyed on earlier cruises. After a swift check-in and priority boarding we found our stateroom and became familiar with its amenities. Things like a huge king bed, a whirlpool bathtub, a minibar and two large closets. There was almost enough space to play baseball.

The spacious balcony with patio chairs and a table not only provided panoramic views and its unobstructed nature would prove perfect for birdwatching but also an excellent place to transcribe notes. It was like a home away from home with a constant view of the ocean. Stateroom 7272 was the largest and most spacious room we have enjoyed on our cruises. Anyone who complains about rooms on Deck 7 of the Victory simply wants to find an excuse to complain. The bathroom with its marble floors and marble sink area also came complete with a whirlpool bathtub and a shower

Although not quite large enough for the entire South African rugby team to play a match the balcony of Stateroom 7272 was more than roomy enough for the three of us to chill out and sip on boat drinks while Cathy did cross stitching, Charlotte read and I watched for seabirds.

What a superb room that easily and with considerable amounts of space accomodated three of us with ease. The king bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The "living" area was the most we have ever had on a cruise. The balcony was almost large enough to play rugby on and the bathroom had marble tiled floors. Stateroom 7272 is forward on the port side of the ship near elevators and stairs which made access to other parts of the ship simple. Again, anyone who complains about rooms on Deck 7 of the Victory is simply looking for an excuse to complain about something.
