We too did the Singapore to Sydney repositioning after the refit, which seemed to be ongoing during the trip. The boarding was the worst experienced. Onboard we werestopped by rude and aggorant security staff because we were carrying a pair of pliers and a screwdriver. They accused us of planning to use them as weapons. When I askedhow pliers could be used as a weapon, they couldn't answer, but seized them, and said that they would be given back when we disembarked. That never happened, as no one could find them, but we were told they would be sent to us - not received yet. Looks like security staff needed tools, so stole them.
Things did not improve. There was little variety in the food, and what was available was not good. This is the first time we have ever complained about the standard and sent food back. It seemed that staffing levels were down, so sevice was slow. Despite asking, we never received the usual upgraded cabin amenities.
We have done almost 100 cruises, and this was the worst. The one saving grace was that we are at the diamond level, so had access to the lounge, and dining areas, where the service was fantastic. We did like our cabin, particularly the bathroom and shower recess.
