We traveled on the Celebrity Silhouette, Dec 7, 2014 for seven nights. We were located on the concerige floor Deck 12. This was our first cruise with Celebrity, having traveled with Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Princess and Disney.

Our room and the individual caring for our room was excellent. The room was kept clean and well stocked throughout our cruise. Canapes were served daily between 4 and 6pm. We had the majority of our breakfasts and lunches in the Oceanview Cafe, which was served buffet style. All the food was well prepared and tasty. Outstanding entries included beef, pork and fish. Actually throughout our trip this cruise had the best tasting beef we have had on any cruise line, but Disney. We had 7 of us traveling so our dinners were all at the same table with same waiter and assistant. The waiter Luis was outstanding. The food was served promptly, quality was excellent and portions are well suited for adults. Luis was attentive and ensured we were happy with our meals and drinks. We frequented two bars with equally excellent service. They were the Martini Bar and Passport. The service here was outstanding, drinks well made and the environment was great.

So you might say what are the mixed feelings? The bar service at the pools was terrible. With the exception of a few woman waiters, the male servers were no where to be seen. When they were walking around it took wild hand waving to get their attention. Get a second drink....never! Get up and go to the bar if you got thirsty. Both servers and bartenders were equally unfriendly of those we approached. What was more annoying, ask what beer was available...not a clue. One would think they would be aware of what beer was available. Ask for a menu of drinks or what was the special of the day....good luck. Some of the bars had no draft due to one excuse or another. Entertainment at the pools was equally poor. Overall all entertainment on this boat was mediocre. One exception was the band in the evenings, main lobby. A group singing Phil Collins songs and other hit songs was EXCELLENT. Finally a band that got the crowd going! Read more
