This was our third cruise, the second with RC. I booked this cruise 13 months ago and we anxiously awaited this vacation. I believe this was the vessel's sixth voyage. As can be expected, there were some kinks. However, I feel everything went wrong with this trip. Cape Liberty is awful. It was chaotic, drop-off area congested and backed up. I believe a link on RC's site indicated CL is two miles from Hoboken. Inaccurate as it was a 20 min cab ride. Getting back to the chaos, I asked three employees about priority check-in (we uploaded photos prior, etc). They instructed us to locate staff walking around with a tablet. There were a few of these individuals who were helping others with a line of people waiting! I feel this terminal cannot handle the volume of passengers. The "10 minute from sidewalk to ship" that RC boasted about turned into an hour of waiting.

The ship is beautiful but sadly the crew was inadequate. I felt they were unfriendly. Compared to our other cruise on Mariner, there was such a drastic difference in the reception. You barely heard a good morning, I never saw the captain or cruise director on this ship. I feel they were understaffed and not ready for the volume of passengers on this ship. Three days into the voyage guest services determined that we needed to be moved to a new cabin. The reason for this was the crew partying in a section of the ship that apparently severely echoed. They sent two security officers to our room at 4:30 a.m. To determine where the noise was coming from. The next night we had the same problem! They were unable to control their own staff. We lost two night's sleep.

As for dining, food was pretty good at most restaurants. Service very slow. Dinner to dessert averaged two hours. Very long. Entertainment pretty good. Husband had problem smoking cigars. He was told three different answers as to the proper location to smoke.

Cabin Review

Large Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin G

This cabin was directly in front of ship. Large window. It was silent for first three days then the crew began partying in the middle of the night for two days. Guest services then moved us to deck 13. There was not much foot traffic but very, very noisy due to crew/housekeeping making a tremendous amount of noise. It was actually unbelievable.
