We went on the the 3 day cruise to nowhere to experience the Quantum of the seas. We go on a cruise about every year to year and a half (usually with 6 kids) but this time was just the 2 of us to get a quick getaway. I was very excited to experience this new ship. There were many things that I liked about the new ship such as the entire upper deck, Pools, (Indoor and out,) the skydiving, everything about seaplex, solarium etc etc.... I thought the entire ship looked very nice, and liked the rock hall space and enjoyed all the entertainment and the rooms were better.... These things were all upgrades from previous Royal Caribbean ships and should have put this cruise above others from the past...

However, its the stuff that was missing and changes that did not need to be changed that makes me worry about the future of Royal Caribbean ships. First of all the new dining is definitely upsetting people more than making people happy... I don't think i've seen any positive reviews of the "change in dining". Especially if we are going to be bringing kids on this class of ship. I miss the real "WOW" of walking into a 3 story Dining Room. All the restaurants on this ship seemed to be just tucked away and felt like we were in a basement rather than a fancy restaurant. Kids want basic food... chicken nuggets, hot dogs, sirloin steak, kids meal stuff..... and these are not even options at any of the main dining restaurants or specialty restaurants... I surely cannot see spending an additional $25 to $50 per meal for kids at any specialty restaurant when they would not even touch most of the food options. Most importantly, on past cruises my kids loved going to the main dining room to talk to "their waiter" that they made friends with over the past few nights, this is no longer even possible on the Quantum class... Please bring back the regular waiters and specific time dining... I'm sure they can figure out a way to make it work, possibly like the Disney Cruises where you eat in a different restaurant every night but it is at the same time and you have the same waiter night after night... I'm sure it can be fixed but they better do it fast.

Need more fun things on board, like the Love and Marriage show, or Quest, or even the parades.... These daily fun times (even if they are less than an hour long) is what keeps us entertained on these ships and are things that you don't really see or do anywhere else but on a ship so why get rid of them on the Quantum class? At least replace with new cruise director shows or activities... to keep us entertained.
