As loyal RCCI Diamond members, we were hopeful, but had our doubts, about whether we would enjoy this cruise, given the problems we had pre-cruise in booking our reservations for dinner and shows. Unfortunately, everything we were concerned about came true. As stated in many other reviews, Dynamic Dining was, truly a disaster. The shows, although very good (especially Mama Mia), were few and far between, leaving us with nothing to do in the evenings on at least 5 of the 11 nights after dinner. And we experienced the same loud banging, scraping, dragging noises in our balcony cabin on Deck 10 which others have complained about, and which kept us awake. Guest Services did nothing about this--nor did they even try to find the source of the noise.
And yes, Quantum was a very "cold" ship, with few activities, an overwhelmed wait staff in dining rooms which offered the same 5 items on their menus each night, no affordable shops to browse, a disinterested cruise director and Guest Services area which was inadequately prepared to solve problems.
Quantum is, without doubt, a beautiful ship. But RCCI is using its Bayonne itineraries to test out its new plans for their move to China and using these early passengers as Guinea Pigs for their future plans for this ship. And they have forgotten that their loyal Diamond and above passengers are the ones who have helped to build RCCI's empire.
