The only thing that saved this ship was the front line people.
The food was mediocre. Not bad, but certainly not the 'feast of fine cuisine' my grandma promised. There were only two of us, we ate in the main dining room with table service each dinner. Buffets really freak me out, not because of the ship, but because of all the nasty people - like those who don't use soap to wash their hands. But we skipped the ship and ate at ports as much as possible.
The superior stateroom was clean, but obviously weathered. This wasn't the rooms first rodeo. A knob here, scratched up door there, mis-fitting drawer, can't believe it was renovated just a year ago. The cleaning staff kept it spotless, great job - they made the difference. Perhaps the main, public areas of the ship may have been renovated, but this room sure looked original.
