We are seasoned cruisers and probably a little more accustomed to the traditional cruise experience.

We live in the Tampa area and drive to the ship the day prior to departure. We stayed at the Sheraton Bal Harbor on Miami Beach and enjoyed the shopping and the amenities of the hotel. I used award points so the cost was minimal. I would be a great spot for a post cruise experience.

On the day of departure we drove to the port and parked in the lot. If you drive be sure to have cash to pay for parking. The lot serving Norwegian only accepts cash. ($15/day). The embarkation process was easy and we were off on cruise number 17. Read more
