This was my first time and probably last time sailing on Celebrity. I was pretty amped up from what I read so I was let down by what I experienced. Embarking and Disembarking was top shelf with no complaints there. I rented a car pre cruise and had to return it downtown Miami which at best was the worst possible scenario to start your cruise. I left my wife, her friend and my teenage son at the dock thinking they could sit inside while I returned the rental. This was all fine and dandy but I was gone for an hour and a bit trying to find gas and maneuver through the one way streets. next time I will drop off at airport and take shuttle. By the time I took a cab back to port the old lady was fit to be tied as you cannot enter terminal unless you have all the documents which I had safely on my person. The room 8189 was great for the 4 of us because of the pull down bed for my foster son, couch for wife's friend and bed for us. Balcony was nice and our cabin steward Fredy and his assistant Abdul were awesome and made our stay enjoyable. My wife and her friend were seasick the first 2 days and couldn't keep seasickness pills or gravol down. My foster son and I (16 year old) ate in the dining room every night and the food was good but I found portions small and not as good as Holland American.

On the Wednesday dinner I had the Cherries Jubilee which started things on a downward spiral for our trip because there was a pit in it and I broke off a piece of tooth and cracked the adjacent tooth. I showed tooth and pit to my waiter and he basically shrugged it off and I reported it to Guest Relations in case my insurance would cover the repairs which I found out they would not. Thank God my wife after years of being a mother, grandmother and foster mom has her bag of goodies which contains all the survival medications necessary to calm the storm. I still suffered pain for the rest of the cruise and hopefully my dentist's secretary can slot me in before Christmas as I am waitlisted. The most upsetting thing about this ordeal was nobody seemed to give a dam but me. Nobody from Guest Relations call the room to see if I was "OK' which I thought was terrible public relations and left a bad taste in my mouth toward Celebrity and you would think someone would care.

The wife and her friend seemed to enjoy supper in the buffet but I was not impressed at all with it and seemed by the time you went from station to station you were eating cold food. The late night buffet was a joke as there was pasta which you shouldn't be eating at 10 at night ( I tried it and had indigestion all night) , Pizza that was hit and miss at being either over or under cooked and assorted cheeses and sandwiches. Holland America are much better here in my opinion. The pools and whirlpools were good except for the inconsiderate  that put their stuff on the chairs. It was the same with the shows everybody saving seats that finally I never tried again so I am no judge how the entertainment was with the exception of the Ventraliquist from England and his wife were pretty good. My wife went to the movie night and I think that was one night and she missed the popcorn she used to get everyday on HAL. My foster son enjoyed the XTeen Club and was there most of the time. The Latte's were great across from the Bistro on 5 and Anca and all the girls there were super good. We never went to any specialty dining venues because I could not justify spending and extra 25-30 bucks a person on food per meal. The hot dogs, burgers and fries were great at the Mast Grille.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 2B

Cabin 2B

The cabin was nice and the bathroom was awesome. With 4 of us in the room it was a bit crowded at times but certainly manageable. Clean and fresh and balcony was nice. Missed the fruit in the room we usually get on HAL but we just brought it back from Ocean Buffet.
