We've been asked why two people would need a two bedroom, two bath suite with 4 TVs, and I'm not sure exactly how many phones. And of course the truth is very few people actually NEED the space and the amenities in the Haven to have a good time on a cruise. That said, the space and service level in the Haven actually did enhance our enjoyment of the cruise.
I got sick during our first sea day. Maybe it was motion sickness, maybe a 24 hour type flu. What a bonus it was that my DH wasn't stuck sitting in a chair at the end of the bed while I was miserable. He had his own bathroom and a spare bedroom so we didn't have to share germs. He could be on the balcony or watch TV in the living room. He could have room service meals at a full size table while I was completely away from food. The Courtyard valet, the cabin steward, the butler, and the concierge all took excellent care of him while he made sure I was content to be in a dark quiet room with a very comfortable bed. Fortunately by the next morning I was much better. But even feeling better, it was wonderful not needing to stand in line for anything. Breakfast and lunch were just across the hallway in the Courtyard. If something wasn't on the menu someone was always willing to find it somewhere else on the ship for me. The concierge easily changed our specialty restaurant reservations for later in the week. It was seamless.
We had always planned for the cruise to just be a relaxing trip. We had been to all the ports several times and were hoping for quiet sunny days more than any particular activity. So not feeling 100% didn't change that plan much. We spent a pleasant beach day at Nachi Cocum in Cozumel, skipped going ashore in Belize, and hired a driver in Roatan. Roatan was not sunny and storms had moved through the week before leaving a lot of debris on the beach, so it wasn't all we hoped for, but It was all good.
The cabin is large and comfortable. The windows in the bathroom over the tub and in the shower in the main bath are particularly striking. The master bed is soft, and there is a pillow menu to chose they type of pillow you prefer. The second bedroom seems planned for children, and mattress is just a folded down couch. The room steward brought in foam pads to make it more comfortable. The second bath is much smaller than the main, but perfectly adequate, with a shower door instead of the dreaded clinging shower curtain. Of the 4 TVs in the cabin only one initially worked right. One DVD wasn't hooked up, and another only had one speaker working. After 3 attempts the electricians on board had everything working well for the next people to have the cabin.
