Sail Date: Nov 2014

We took a five night cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale over the Thanksgiving holiday. Recent ships we have been on are the Royal Caribbean Oasis and Allure and we have sailed on other Grand class Princess ships so I knew pretty much what to expect considering this is not a new mega ship like Oasis or Allure. I disagree with some of the reviews saying the ship is not in good shape as I found it fine considering it is not a new ship.

We had a mini suite on the Dolphin deck and the furnishings and carpeting were clean and well maintained. In fact one day a workman came to take away the drape for a few minutes as the steward had reported it needed a quick mend on the hem. I hadn't even noticed it. I do agree that the shows are not particularly outstanding but they were adequate. And my feeling is the price of the cruise was kind of in line w/ the quality of the entertainment. Meaning--yes they have Broadway shows and ice skating shows on the bigger Royal Caribbean ships but the cost of those cruises was much higher. I was disappointed that classes such as yoga were not scheduled; I believe one day there was a zumba class but that was it. All staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful and the ship was decorated nicely for Thanksgiving Day and all the football games were shown on the big outdoor movie screen. Both embarkation and disembarkation were easy. I worried about getting off as we had an 11Am flight but we took the 7:50 AM walk off and we were at the airport before 9AM. All in all, it was a great, fun cruise and I hope others are not swayed by some of the less flattering reviews.

Cabin Review

Cabin AC

Starboard side, quiet room, nicely furnished and clean. Large bathroom and closet area. Close to elevator but not too close. Loved the room.
