We sailed two days after Thanksgiving. This was our 11th cruise, 5th with Carnival. Embarkation was not too terrible as they made us offload luggage on the median and then stay while husband parked the car. Actual signing in was easy but I wondered why there were so many angry folks in the terminal before we even got on the ship. Found out why when I looked at the ship card after getting on. It seems that all the confirmed 6pm diners were moved to an any time dining and I was livid myself. So from that line to another line to be told I would get a card the next day with a table number and had to be there at 5:30 SHARP.

This caused many folks including us to be very put out. Saturday we ate at JiJis Asian restaurant. NOT to be missed. Incredible and so good we ate there also on Wednesday. Monday we ate in the MDR and met some very nice dining companions, also wondering why they were not told about the dining problems. Passed by a very long line of "any time" diners waiting on another deck for a table. Tuesday at Megans Beach was interesting, water cold but with the tide coming in as we were there late in the afternoon, not much fun. The pelicans, ferrets and iguanas, kept us entertained. Did not make it back until 5 PM in wet suits so did not make it to the MDR and got a call from the Maitre D the next day which really upset us. This ship needs better signage to get around. The aft restaurant requires that you go up a deck or two and then to the aft elevators and down again. Directions from the staff made us late for dinner the first night we ate there. Thursday I had the $20 lobster in the MDR and kept it down about 2 hours. We did not go back.

The Burger Joint is really good as is the Burrito/Taco place. Shops had same old same old. Bingo was 3 games over 2 hours. The announcements were terribly loud as was the DJ on the lido deck. We had to leave it was so unpleasant.

Cabin Review

Premium Balcony

Cabin 9B

The cabin was plenty roomy, bathroom same size as all the others. Nice to have the lounger on the extended deck. However, no fridge. Very few shelves, but enough closet space. One whole wall with nothing on it. Would have been nice to have a magnify makeup mirror in the bathroom. There is another electrical outlet behind the TV we found on the third day. TV programming was lousy. You can only take so much of Ron Burgundy. No first run movies; had to rely on TNT, TBS, TCM when Direct TV would come in at all.
