Are you looking for a show that is different and wonderful? I highly recommend the Cantaré show on the Nieuw Amsterdam that I have seen a total of five times on two cruises. (I got to see it so many times because my 14-day cruise is a sum of two seven-day cruises, Western and then Eastern Caribbean. I've been on this cruise twice.)

The show is simple. It is four male singers from the ship's entertainment company, but the choices of the music, the staging, and the arrangements are perfection. I got three CD's, one for my house, one for my car, and one as a gift.

It all was part of a very lovely cruise over Thanksgiving on a very nicely laid out ship. There are great entertainment venues, and the ship is new and well appointed. The food was good. The staterooms attendants about the best we've ever had.

Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

Cabin VE

The staterooms on the Nieuw Amsterdam are very comfortable. Ours had a bathtub. What is really nice is the locations of the closets. They are in the hallway across from the bathroom and much easier to use than ones right up against the bed.The balcony was a nice size. My only change would be to the furniture. A higher table would make it possible to have breakfast out there. Also the cane furniture moved too easily. It was hard to keep the foot stool under one's feet. The stateroom attendants were exceptional. Our stateroom was fixed and ready for our use always by mid-morning.
