I must start my review by stating that I had followed Quantum from her first block being set in Meyer Werft to her float out down the Ems to her arrival at Cape Liberty and I enjoyed the whole process! As an engineer I can appreciate the huge amount of planing that building such a vessel takes. All that being said I must say as much as I wanted to love QOS I felt a little underwhelmed. My overall feeling of Quantum is that RCI is trying to bring their Celebrity Cruise ship feel to their Royal Caribbean line ... good idea???? I guess it remains to be seen.
There have been many others who have addressed the "bugs" in the various systems and I could expound on that myself but I prefer to keep my review more about the class of ship itself. I believe that if you are a cruiser that enjoys a smaller ship feel with less traditional activities you will most likely enjoy this class, once the wrinkles have been ironed out so to say, but if you are like myself and fell in love with RCI's Oasis class ships I think you will most likely be somewhat disappointed. The "energy" of the ship simply felt different for me, at times almost nonexistent, which was puzzling given that this cruise was publized by RCI as the Inaugural sailing.
In closing I will simply say that I can't wait for Oasis 3 to launch .. Anthem and Ovation .. not so much
Awesome room!
