I have to say that the staff in the Southern Lights dining room were amazing. All of the staff were friendly on this ship as well. We had the senior waiter for the dining room as one of our waiters, and he did a great job. I did have some trouble when ordering beef. I ordered my prime rib and filet mignon rare but they came out at least medium well. Also, the short rib was more like a roast based on texture.

The lido deck (buffet style) food was typical. They don't the greatest layout though. They had some bottlenecks, especially in the mongolian grill area. They had a lot of people there but only two meals could be cooked at a time. Also, there were symmetric lines for most types of food (like salad) but it was never busy. They could have used their space more efficiently. I noticed that there were not as many staff coming over to pick up used plates and clean tables off. When I have been on the Conquest before, it was almost immediate. I had to walk past uncleaned tables when looking for one on this cruise. When we made it back from an excursion in Belize, it was around 3:30. All of the lido deck restaurants were closed except for pizza and hamburgers. When everyone got back on the ship, the two lines wrapped past each other. I think the closing times were badly planned here.

Hole 9 in the minigolf course was out-of-order. The ball was supposed to go down a pipe but would get stuck. I think a pressure washer could have fixed it because there is probably something stopping it up.

Cabin Review

Cabin 8B

The cabin was nice. It didn't have any funny smells or anything like that. We had some very windy nights with some nearby storms. We only heard our curtains creak a little. This cabin had an LCD TV, and we had had CRT TV's in the past. Deck 5 was wide on this ship, so if you look straight down you will see it instead of water. I was somewhat disappointed with this because I always liked to look straight down and see water.
