My husband and I, our 5 year old daughter and my mother sailed on the Getaway the week after Thanksgiving in stateroom 12180.

Embarkation: We were on the boat within 20 minutes of getting out of our car. Norwegian has embarkation and disembarkation down to a science. We arrived at the port at 1130am and we were on the boat before noon.

Stateroom: Much to my surprise, the stateroom worked really well for the four of us. I was concerned about space, but the way the room is arranged, particularly the couch/3rd person bed, works very well. Even with the extra bed set up and the Pullman bed above it pulled down, there was plenty of space to maneuver around the room. This particular balcony was larger than most as it was on an angle and allowed for 3 chairs and a small table. Unfortunately, due to all of the non-smokers complaining in the last few years, we were unable to sit on the balcony and enjoy a cigarette. At the end of the cruise, we realized that we spent a total of about 30 minutes on the balcony the entire cruise. Every time we wanted a cigarette, we had to go to the Sunset Bar on deck 8 waterfront, Waves Pool Bar on deck 15, Spice H2O on 16 (aft) or to the casino. In the future, we might has well book an inside cabin for half the price since we have to go somewhere else every time we want to have a cigarette. There was plenty of storage in the room for all of our thing. Unfortunately, we didn't realize there were two large drawers under the sofa until our final night when we looked under everything to make sure we weren't leaving anything behind.

She made sure we never wanted for anything. Everything was always well stocked and she was always very pleasant when we would run into her in the hallway.
