I have sailed on approximately 13-14 cruises on 5 different cruise lines. This was my first NCL and the most disappointing. My companion was taking his first cruise and had nothing to compare with. The cabin was an average size with sufficient storage. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the temperature in the cabin easy to keep comfortable. We had a balcony room so had plenty of scenery when in port.
Most of the cruises I have taken have had some name entertainers. Not so on this cruise. The NCL production cast had a few good singers and dancers but most, at best, were average.
The food was most disappointing. While it was plentiful and looked very appealing, it was bland and they lack the imagination to disguise leftovers. To serve a dish called chili one night that could be eaten with a fork then put mashed potatoes on it the next night and call it shepherds pie doesn't work. Pork Leg one night and a pool BBQ the next afternoon turned into BBQ beans with pork at dinner. Desserts were beautiful but bland. A steak in the dining room couldn't be chewed.
The cabin was very compact but sufficient. My only critique would be the shower. It is the smallest shower I've ever had on a cruise ship. It is a compact size but difficult to maneuver while the ship is rocking. I learned to lean against the back and not turn around very fast.
