Recently returned from a Pride of America (POA) Cruise (November 15 - 22, 2014) and I have nothing to say but but good things. It was my first cruise and I traveled as a solo traveler. Stayed for three nights at the suggested POA hotel (Waikiki Beach Marriott Beach Hotel) and it was more than excellent. My luggage was transported to the ship prior to my embarkation as I took a pre-excursion tour and it was on the ship when I arrived. Embarkation was very quick, no longer than 5 - 10 minutes even with the picture taking. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. My cabin was very comfortable, quiet and clean. The food I ate from the buffet, room service, dining rooms and specialty dining rooms were great. The ship had lots of activities if you wanted to partake. The entertainment that I attended was very good and the ones I didn't attend sounded like they were also very good.

I found all the shore excursions (6) that I attended to be top notch and provided memories that I will hopefully remember for the rest of my life. Everyone of the excursions was well worth the money for me and all the tour guides and drivers were excellent. I found that as a solo traveler the best way for me was to meet other travelers was on the excursions as on the ship most people had their own groups. The ship had a number of events on board for the solo traveler to meet. Disembarkation was very quick and easy. Hawaii is an unbelievable beautiful and stunning destination.

I know as a first time and solo cruiser, I have nothing to compare to but the Pride of America exceeded all my expectations.

Cabin Review

Obstructed Oceanview

Cabin OX

The cabin was large and had lots of adequate storage. My obstructed view was hardly obstructed as I had great views from my room. My bed was very comfortable ( queen size) and the bedding was great. The bathroom was very clean and had lots of room for my toiletries, etc. The ship provided soap, shower gel and shampoo. The room had lots of mirrors, and had a nice desk to write at, the lighting was good and a small table to eat breakfast. I realize the room was for more than one person but I enjoyed it very much .
