We just returned from a 4 night Bahamas cruise on the Enchantment. My husband and I have both cruised 2 or 3 times before (Royal Caribbean and Carnival) but this was our first cruise in over 10 years. This cruise we shared with our 6 and 3 y/o daughters.

The Enchantment of the Seas is noticeably an older ship, outside and in. I noted many of the same concerns and issues as other passengers/reviewers have mentioned (i.e. poorly operating automatic doors which actually close on you if you're not careful, sour sewage odor in MANY of the public restrooms and occasionally in our suite bathrooms). We had multiple issues with our cabin (see below). Though it seemed that there were always staff members working to maintain cleanliness, the whole ship had a "dated" air to it.

Parking- We traveled by car, a little over an hour away, and parked at the port. The flat rate was $75 for a 4 day cruise. We parked in covered area across from the terminal. Parking was safe and very convenient.

Royal Family Suite with Balcony

Cabin FS

Do. Not. Book. This. Suite. There was a strong, sour/cigarette -like odor in the second bedroom where our kids slept. They complained every night about the smell. Also, the drain in the main bathroom floor backed up one night and flooded the floor with dirty, sour smelling water. To the staffs credit, each time we reported the issues, their response was very quick. Even the floor supervisor came to our suite to talk with us about what they were doing and to follow up. By the time we had the flood in the bathroom we were so familiar with the supervisor (who was extremely apologetic and professional) that he offered us a significant discount off our current cruise cost to be used to a future trip with Royal Caribbean. We had been prepared to have to complain and hunt down someone to address our concerns and frustrations but they were ahead of us! The odor was never fixed but the bathroom issue was addressed and did not recur. The customer service we experienced on these issues was amazing and that significantly helped us enjoy the rest of our time on the boat. Still.... If you have a choice, stay away from 8052!
