We just returned from our trip to Hawaii which included a cruise on Pride Of America. I have read a lot of comments on this ship and this is our 24th cruise = so here it goes!

WOW - The ship is excellent, the crew was Great and the port stops wonderful. If you go to Hawaii, the POA Cruise is a must. Also the ship is US registered (the only one) with a crew over 75% American and many patriotic teams in the public spaces. But it is different as the POA is both a cruise and a floating hotel. What makes the trip so different is the large amount to time spent in port and the little time at sea. Very different from most cruises. We met with the Captain and his staff twice and I was most impressed by their commitment. The POA is in her 10th year of cruising Hawaii. The embarkation was simple and well organized - they even included entertainment and hula dancers. They have corrected most past problems. Hey!! It is a ship so new things pop up, but I was impressed and would cruise POA again any time!!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

They upgraded our cabin from BX - no problems with the cabin. Great sliding door and room darkening curtain. Bath was a little tight (same in all rooms we are told by crew). Mid sized closet. 3rd bed pulls down from ceiling which made room bigger. Note - we always move our life jackets under the bed as they take up lots of closet space.
