This was our first Norwegian cruise and we were really disappointed. We stood in line over an hour to board, which kind of set the tone for the entire cruise. They were recarpeting the ship during our cruise, which I found disturbing. There were constant disruptions and detours due to this and when you stepped out of an elevator or turned a corner you often walked into a work zone of glue, padding, carpet, etc.

Noodles and Thien Fu, the comedians, told very dated jokes, most of which I heard 30 years ago. The shows and much of the music seemed geared to my parents' generation and folks even older than that. The final show "A Tribute to Fountains" consisted of the cruise directors in togas spitting water at each other. It was a bit amusing the first minute, but it went on for far too long and got tiresome and redundant. Since the shows were sometimes lacking, we asked for the tv movie schedule, which they cheerfully gave us, but it was seldom correct. It wasn't off by a little, it was way off, sometimes two hours or more.

The service onboard was excellent and the staff was very friendly, but sadly they couldn't make up for the negatives. Norwegian seldom missed an opportunity to sell something, congratulate themselves for a job well done, or self-promote. This got a bit old after a week.
