Took this cruise as a part of a celebration of my sister's wedding aboard the Triumph before setting sail on this 4 day cruise.

The Good: Ok I should say mostly good. Booked an ocean view with a balcony. Room was large and spacious, plenty of cabinet, drawer ad closet space. Bonus roomy closet. Bathroom was roomy with two parts, a section with large mirrors and vanity seating then a separate space for combination shower and whirlpool tub. I usually hate having bathrooms with the toilet close to the tub but here there was enough room between the two that I didn't feel grossed out by the idea. The balcony was huge with a table and four chairs. Just enough for my family of four to view the water and scan the horizon with our binoculars comfortably. Our steward was Beauman who was friendly but we did not see often. This was ok by us so long as he had the room cleaned when we were out and ready for us when we came back each day. He even had a towel animal made on one night. Chocolates were left each night on the turned down bed. Entertainment was ok with some family friendly shows we saw. The outdoor movie screen had holes in places with some damage to the pixel view on the screen. Not too thrilled about the "hairy chest" contest but I guess some must like it. The 2 pools were small with not enough room for a lot of people to get in. The Cozumel excursion was nice. We opted to go to Playa Mia beach resort. Lots of things to do with water sports and games. I had a relaxing time and drank a margarita. My kids enjoyed the kids water park.

The Bad: Sigh....this was our first cruise ever and we were soooooo hoping the Triumph reviews we read about the food being bad were not true but alas...We had Paris late evening dining each night. The food was just so so in taste, bland, sometimes undercooked and never hot. I mean I truly wonder what they had to cook with. It was if they were heating food up in a microwave, letting it sit for a bit then bringing it out to us. The was one ridiculous meal called "Chicken Tetrazinni" that did not resemble anything of the kind. It consisted of cold spinach noodles with a large tasteless lump of chicken breast covered in....drumroll please......a slice of Velvetta cheese. We paid thousands for a family of four to take this cruise and the best I can expect for my meals is Velvetta cheese? W...O...W.... just... W...O...W. One morning at breakfast in the same dining room I ordered turkey bacon and I kid you not the bacon looked as if they took it straight out of the package and set it on my plate. It was cold, limp and pathetic. You can't even get soda on the ship without paying at least 2 bucks or more per can. The only free beverages are lemonade, water and ice tea. I guess this is how they make up for the cheaper cruise prices by nickeling and diming you on the soda. The only good food seemed to be Guy's burgers. That did not disappoint. The hype about these burgers are real. My husband's diet literally consisted of a burger 1-2 times a day to make up for the lousy dining room food. The pizza was just average. I never did get a chance to try the Blue Iguana tacos which I had heard were tasty by others.

Cabin Review

Ocean Suite

Cabin OS

Spacious room. Comfortable bed. Large balcony. Big bathroom. Loved the vanity mirrors with seating. Extra bedding doubling as a couch was a big plus. Lots of drawers and cabinet space. Well worth the cost.
