Having read some of the reviews of this cruise, my husband and I begin to wonder if we were on the same trip! Firstly we simply DO NOT BELIEVE that guests were not informed at check-in that there was a change to the itinerary. Every single desk was handing out the company's letter describing the reasons behind the new schedule and a subsequent specially made video in the stateroom given by the captain outlined the concern that they had for passenger safety. However, we have to say we have never sailed with so many knuckle-headed passengers who seemed to have trouble grasping any details they were given so perhaps lack of grey matter was the cause of the 'not being informed' when everyone else seemed to know. (Even on the last day or so, we still saw people confused by the lifts!) Yes, it was a disappointment not to be able to visit Bermuda when everyone had looked forward to it, but when the choice was 40foot waves - is there any choice? You can see the moaning in another review when the waves were at 17foot high! Not a very seasoned sailor methinks! Eclipse was its usual efficient and friendly ship and crew from the captain, through the officers to the cabin staff and waiters, they cannot be faulted, indeed all gave of their best to ensure a great experience for the cruisers.Food in all outlets was of an even higher standard than we have had on many Celebrity ships, and we must refute completely the observation from another person about the speciality restaurant 'Murano' We dined there on my husband's birthday and the service, food, presentation, and knowledge of the exceedingly experienced staff so surpassed our expectations that we wrote a special letter of thanks to the whole team which was acknowledged most graciously by the food and beverage director. To those who say the extra 2 hours in New York did not permit a theatre visit - you did not try very hard - we visited the theatre on Broadway on both the evening of arrival and a matinee the next day - both superb! Not perhaps the theatre goers we are who know the schedules. Never at any time during the whole cruise did we have difficulty obtaining a seat in Ocean View, the Theatre which we attended every night - or in any bars. Maybe because we are sociable and don't mind mingling with fellow guests, which after all is how you make new friends. We had a wonderful cruise, can't thank the staff of Celebrity Eclipse enough and to those who complain about no chocolate on their pillow or no Twining's tea bags (Yes, we did see that on a list) we say GET A LIFE of STAY AT HOME!
