Brilliance of the Seas is a beautiful, smaller ship. We had a junior suite on the port side, near the back. Unfortunately, we were directly below the Windjammer, and the banging, screeching, booming noise went on all night. We assumed these were serving carts or something similar being moved about. At times, the boom was so loud that we jumped up in bed, in fright! It sounded like someone was picking up and dropping refrigerators. We had four restless nights -- every time we dozed off, BOOM, another noise woke us up. We usually get a suite on the aft part of the ship (we love being able to watch the ship's wake from our balcony). However, one was not available when we booked. I wish RCCL had warned us about the noise.
The seas were very rough, and the ship rocked pretty much non-stop for the duration. Combined with the noise, the movement made for very little sleep.
The food in the dining room was okay -- not great, not bad. We did eat in Chop's one night, which was terrific. They need more seating in the Windjammer --- we found ourselves standing there with our trays full of food and no where to sit. When we entered our suite on the first day, there was an empty beer bottle on our balcony. Other than that, our room was well-cared for, even though our attendant never introduced himself (herself??).
Beautiful, roomy junior suite with balcony and bathtub, BUT directly below the Windjammer. Noise all night -- loud bangs and booms, scraping noises, we assumed were from the crew moving furniture, serving carts, etc. The noises went on all night --- we were awakened at intervals at 1AM, 2AM, 2:45AM, and so on all night. We had very little sleep.
