This was our 15th cruise. We are about 60/40 with RCCL. First time on the IOTS, but have sailed on her "sisters". The ship is beautiful and we thought in great condition. We were concerned when we received notice that embarking would be delayed due to a required deep cleaning after a "sick" cruise. While we appreciated the notification, we were not impressed with the deep cleaning. We noticed that the beds do not have mattress pads, that was a disappointment to us. I had a can of Lysol with me and used it liberally. i also used a bleach spray and wipes to wipe off all hard surfaces. I am a cancer survivor and still am concerned about immune system staying strong.
Check-in: Moved quickly and efficiently. We are Diamond and appreciate dedicated line.
Cabin: We were on 8th Deck in a Promenade view room. We love the second couch for reading with a pillow against the wall. It also made for great views of parades, etc. Our room had a fabulous view of the floating bridge. It was quite with the exception of the last 2 night's events, however we enjoyed sitting there and watching the fun. Nice cabin steward, not exceptional, but very good.
Great space. Love the second couch. Good for a pillow on the side as a reading nook. Enough storage for us and room to maneuver around. This is our third time in one and it seemed a little bigger. Have been on 6th and 7th decks before. This was 8 mid-ship. Noise level no problem, with exception of two big party nights. Room was over floating bridge and provided a great view of those events.
