I liked the Sun's size and layout. It did not have a "shopping-mall-at-sea" feel and the sales pitches were low-key. Owner's suit with front-facing balcony was nicely laid out and kept clean. That's the good. The mediocre: Service ship-wide made it clear that this was a budget cruise line. Our steward was efficient, but many of the staffers seemed unenthusiastic and a bit tired. The buffet food was cafeteria quality. For the specialty dining, the Brazilian restaurant was tops (server "Catherine" was first class!), followed by Le Bistro. Cagney's was poor for service and food quality - took an hour to cook a burnt-out steak and a raw hamburger. La Cucina breakfast food was very good. Guest services was perfunctory in answering questions. My main gripe is that the ship paid little attention to Hubbard Glacier, which for us should have been the highlight and was the main reason we picked NCL. It was more of a drive-by sighting, and if you blinked or got up late, you missed it (no announcements were made upon arrival).
Overall, the owner's suite expenditure was not quite worth it. Apart from the Alaska scenery, there was just nothing about the cruise that made it seem like a "special" trip, although the ship's entertainment was pretty good. I would look to upgrade to a higher-grade cruise line if I were ever to do this again.
Nice sized cabin. Clean, quiet, and great forward-facing view. Jacuzzi is splintering a bit on the wooden railing, but worked properly. Service in the cabin was much better than in the rest of the ship.
