This is our third cruise, tried RC (Grandeur of the Seas) and Norwegian (Pearl) but Princess is a step above them. The Ruby was a good ship if you are in your 50's or older for there were no rowdy parties and very few children on this cruise. I think kids of all ages would be bored cus i saw little activity for them.
Service was perfect everywhere we ate and had drinks. Food choices and quality were very good. Treated ourselves to a lovely dinner in the Crown Grill and its well worth the $25 charge. You pretty much can have anything on the menu in any quantity that you want....you just have to ask. Service in the buffets was very efficient, unlike the other cruise ships, they bring water coffee juice to your table, utensils and real napkins waiting for you when you sit down. Some helpful hints..There is an omelet chef and they deliver it to your table. Be sure to try breakfast and lunch at the International Cafe. PLEASE be sure to visit the Pizza Man! Never thought i could get excited about pizza on a cruise. It is really the best we ever had!
Our ship was not full so debarking and embarkation was a breeze. No need to take the airport transfer from Princess. Cab line is right there and cheaper. You can see the cruise ships from the airline terminal...its that close. It was all very easy.
Our cabin was comfortable and sufficient. Our first time to get an obstructed view outside cabin. The natural light and somewhat of a view is really all you need (cabin E509) and the discounted price was much appreciated. You spend all your time on deck anyway. Quiet and beds are comfy, small bathroom but great water pressure. This cabin location was the best! easy access to everywhere....
