I originally booked this cruise to sail from Budapest to Nuremberg on the 25th Oct,to be told that the cruise would be cancelled due to lack of passengers.I agreed to sail on the 18th Oct rather than cancel only to find that crew members told me the ship was still sailing on the return journey on the 25th Oct.I find it strange that the date I wanted was in fact sailing but had to cancel

Having said that the river cruise was very good and the crew excellent.A new ship was a pleasure to sail on and food very good.Another good thing about Emerald is the inclusion of gratuities although the cost of the cruise is expensive but you do not have to think about tipping the driver or tour guide and crew staff.The pool was small but very few people on board took advantage of this facility.The evening cinema was a welcome distraction from the nightly entertainment.

I have used other river cruise companies like VIKING and Amawaterways and they are all very good.I would not use Emerald again after being lied to,I would rather give my business to more truthful companies even though gratuities are not included. Read more
