The new Cruise Director Jacques De Lange, who took over for Risa Barnes recently is doing an excellent job! He is making the announcements and keeping everyone informed. You actually see him "out an about" with the guests. Nice.

The Fantasy was late on embarkation because of the Carnival Concert Series performance in Nassau a few nights back and didn't leave there until 1 A.M. which made her late in Charleston. If you thought the usual process of queuing cars in the K rails was disorganized it really was a parking lot until everything started moving at 12:30 P.M., unusual.

Grand Turk was wonderful and the beer cold at "Jack's Shack". Patricia mentioned the conch was perfectly prepared and generous. The tendering in to Half Moon Cay was a bit chaotic. I cannot see or say what the delay may have been. The swells did not appear overly large or rough. We were due to arrive at 9 A.M. but the first tender did not get to shore until 11 A.M., but hey, once we arrived the clock stopped and we had a wonderful day. It was a drizzly day in Nassau but again it was nice and warm.

Interior

Cabin 4D

The interior rooms on deck 6 {main} in the area of the grand suites are "turned sideways" to make room for the size of the grand suites across the hall. We had ours set up as a king size bed but that puts one sleeper up against the wall and forces that sleeper to move to the foot of the bed to exit (watch out for the TV shelf) or climb over the other sleeper. We asked our steward to make up our beds 90° off so the heads of both were up against the wall. Solved. It allowed for a nice sitting area near the TV to eat our room service in the A.M. No it isn't convenient to watch the TV from the bed at this angle, but what do you need TV for on a cruise ship?
