Wife and I recently sailed on the Getaway on Nov. 15. This was our 23rd cruise and our third with NCL, having previously sailed on the Pride of America and the Epic. Our other cruises were with Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess and Celebrity...and without question this last cruise was one of our worst.

The Getaway is a new and beautiful ship but in our opinion looks are deceiving. From the cabins and the cabin attendant who never said a dozen words to us all week..... to theatre seating ......to the choice of meals at the Garden Center .....to specialty dining, the Getaway just didn't measure up.

The cabin (inside where we always travel) was perhaps the smallest we've encountered with less than a foot of space on each side of the bed (compared to Celebrity Reflection where there was about 4 - 5 feet of space on one side). There were no drawers of any type in which to put our clothes...only several small shelves about 6-8 in. wide. Read more
