We had cruised previously (Panama Canal, Caribbean, Mexico) but this was our first cruise in eleven years. From the various reviews I read, I was expecting a significant decline in service, food and, well, just about everything. Seems like most reviewers liked past cruises much better... Not us. This transatlantic cruise was just fine.
The Liberty was big enough to never really feel crowded. There were so many things to do spread out all over a very large ship. The indoor promenade was really cool with its shops, bars and restaurants.
We liked the wine bar which claimed to have over 300 wines by the glass. (We didn't try quite that many but tried different wines each evening before dinner. (The premium drink package was extremely handy for this...) They also had wine tastings and dinners there. Similarly, the promenade beer bar had a sufficient selection of craft beers and entertainment every night. Elsewhere there was a piano bar and a Latin bar we also enjoyed very much.
Cabin was nice and modern. Good well planned lighting. Roomier than I expected and the bathroom (and shower) were fine. Adequate storage. Nice balcony. The location on the ship was excellent.
