RCI really missed the mark on this one. While Oasis is really Big and beautiful.....that's about it. From talking to people on the boat I noticed to types of cruisers. First Timers (mostly not English speaking)and true veterans. That's a really bad Mix on this boat as 5000+ people and people who just don't seem to have any common sense.
The Shows...... The shows are top notch if you can see them. But, The venues are all WAY to small on this ship so make sure you make and stick to your reservations. DO NOT BE LATE! in fact, don't be on time either they WILL give you reservations up to the stand by folks. Make sure you and your party show up about 30 min early to get a good seat. If you cant make a reservation be prepared to stand in a "Stand By' line but be warned when they let the "stand by" folks in it is an all out free for all. At the Opal Theater My wife and I had to get in a stand by line for "Come Fly With Me" to see it a second time. (yes it was that good) When the released the line That where it happened. We were pushed, and shoved while trying to find 2 seats together. It was all out craziness. People were screaming and shouting running all over the place. You would think the ushers would have helped people to their seats to make sure everyone could find a seat without incident? NO WAY! they would rather just watch the classless people pushing shoving, blocking access to seats and isles and reserving seats for people that were not even there at the time. I found this behavior absolutely disgusting and this has now made me rethink ever cruising with RCI ever again.
The pools....oh the pools.....Make sure you are out there early! You will NOT get a seat near anything that resembles a pool unless you are out early on a sail day. RCI tries to police people by removing items if they are left for 30 min. But this is a problem. They don't know who has been there 30 min, or who is in the pool. My wife and I went into the hot tub and when we got back someone else was in our seats! I'm really surprised that the cruise companies have not developed a system to figure this out.
