My wife and I embarked on our 1st ever cruise aboard the Breakaway 5-12 Oct 14. We booked a balcony based on friends recommendations. Traveled from Maryland to the Terminal on cruise day and was pleasantly suprised how easy it was to get here. Parking for the 7 day voyage was steep at $280.00, but it was our choice instead of relying on friends or family to cart us there and return for pickup. Boarding was extremely easy and hassle free. I have waited in TSA lines longer than I waited here. Once aboard, I was floored at the beauty and the pampered style in which we were received and treated on this ship. We took advantage of the comlimentary dining for every meal and wre never disappointed. Even the food provided on NCL's island, Great Stirrup Cay was excellent. Our Cabin Steward, Richard, was exceptional and cleaned the room twice daily. The "towel pal" animals he crafted daily was fun. Did not book any shore excursions and decided to explore on our own. The Private Island Stop was a tropical paradise. Nassau, Bahama was strait to the beach. We walked to a local public beach after receiving recommendations and directions (less than 10 min walk) from a couple of friends. Beach was spotless and you could purchase alchol for consuption right on the beach. The Cirque Du Solei show was "OK" and I would not go again. Rock of Ages was fantastic. Did not see Burn the Floor or the Comedy acts. I have absolutely no complaints about NCL, the ship or the crew. Top notch service all the way. Only complaint would be about some fellow passengers. I have met rude people all over the world and on a cruise ship with 5000 people, you are bound to meet a few.

My exit bill was $450.00. We are not big drinkers and the majority of the bill was shopping.

We both had recently quit smoking and were not bothered by the fact that smoking was allowed in certain areas.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BA

No complaints. Room size was comfortable with adequate closet and shelves space. Yes there was drawer space under the TV console. Saw so many reviews that stated differently. All of our suitcases easily fit under the bed. Bathroom was large enough and the shower was fantastic with good water pressure. We enjoyed sleeping with the balcony door open to take advantage of the clean fresh salt air and we had noise from the bars on level 8 in the evening, so next cruise we will book a balcony on the opposite side. Problem solved.
