We had already enjoyed several days in Rome before embarking on the Celebrity Silhouette and we were looking forward to starting the cruise. We have cruised before but this was our first transatlantic and also the longest cruise we had done.

We enjoyed the ports of call, especially Barcelona and Palma De Mallorca, shopping was great in Tenerife and we went to see the tower of Pisa to get the obligatory ‘hand supporting tower’ picture! There were enough activities to take part in on the ship but the sea days dragged and after a week at sea we were ready to get to Fort Lauderdale and get home. Not sure I would choose to do a transatlantic crossing again, it just seemed to be wake-up, eat, go around the ship and avoid trying to get sold items from the shops, eat, sit down, eat, maybe watch a film, show or lecture (they were interesting to be fair, a man from Nasa gave several lectures), then eat some more.

Our suite was great, very clean and it was a good choice to get a balcony for a long cruise. The cabin stewards were excellent and very helpful, as were all of the crew. Michelle the waitress is crazy but made us smile every morning!
