This has been a dream of ours for years and before I booked I talked to a classmate who had been on several Viking Cruises. On her rave reviews we booked a "pre 50th wedding anniversary cruise" that started in Prague and ended in Paris. Viking took great care of us! No worries, no hassle! They picked us up at the airport and from then on we were in their capable hands. The hotels were nice, close to town so we could walk and explore. The tours were fun and interesting, the guides were very knowledgeable . We never would have seen so much on our own. The ship was fantastic! We loved sitting on the deck watching the amazing landscape of castles and vineyards and especially enjoyed going through the river locks. The program director was energetic, friendly, and super organized. Each night there was an opportunity for live music and a fun activity; we really liked the glassblower! The food was fantastic and there was always a nice variety and excellent service. One night I asked the head chef about some mustard that we had tried on German night; he said it could be purchased in the grocery store at the town we were stopping at in a day or two. A few minutes later he came to our table with a jar of the yummy brown mustard! So nice! Another day he took some of us into town and we went to a sausage tasting narrated by our chef! At every turn and opportunity Viking staff met or exceeded our expectations. The intimacy of the ship meant you got to know one another quite well after a few days and we made some new friends! This trip of a lifetime was more than we ever hoped it would be!

Cabin Review

The cabins are compact but it had everything we needed. It was clean and bright and the beds were very comfortable. The housekeeping staff was excellent and responded to any request immediately. We didn't have a balcony but we could open the slider--which we did while in port so we could feed some swans!
