This was our third cruise on Carnival and our 25th cruise since we started cruising in 2006. This ship gets the award for the dirtiest ship we have ever been on. Rooms had to be recleaned and the balconies were filthy. Sticking to the bathroom floor is not my idea of clean. If I had known I would have brought my own bottle of cleaner for us and our friends to share. The room stewards were overwhelmed with the task of cleaning this ship after it came back into service. You had to feel bad for them as they did the best they could.
Other observations that bothered me were the tables on the Lido deck were never clean. People would eat and the Lido staff would hardly clean the tables. I asked for a sponge a couple of times to get my message accross. The deck lounge chairs were dirty and the pillows really needed cleaning. Would not even consider sitting without a towel over them. People were smoking on their balconies as you could smell the cigarettes if you dared venture out onto your balcony before it was cleaned. The ship was delayed about 4 hours and it took and hour and a half for the lifeboat drill to finally take place. No consideration for the passengers by telling them this as we waited. Only communication was from the cruise director during the week. Half the time the ice machines on the Lido deck were not working and some never did work after midweek. At the ships desk I had a representative start talking down to me when I asked a question about disembarkation. I thought it was funny that the woman behind me called him a jerk which is what I was thinking.
On a positive note we did enjoy the Burger Joint and the Mexican grill. The staff in the dining room was fantastic in taking care of our needs. They went above and beyond for us. Many of the meals were excellent.
